In the by-election being held for a vacant seat of the Legislative Council, BJP candidate Bahoran Lal Maurya is sure to be elected unopposed. He filed his nomination on Tuesday, the last day of nomination, in the presence of CM Yogi Adityanath at the Vidhan Bhavan. In view of the strength of BJP, no other opposition party including SP has fielded a candidate.

This by-election is being held on the seat vacated by the resignation of SP MLC Swami Prasad Maurya. The date for withdrawal of nomination is July 5. After that the formalities of declaring Bahoran Lal as the winner will be completed. His term will be till July 2028. The CM said that Bahoran Lal will reach the Legislative Council after winning the election and will highlight the problems of the common people. At the time of his nomination, BJP state president Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Minister Suresh Khanna, Swatantra Dev Singh, JPS Rathore, Kapil Dev Agarwal and Baldev Singh Aulakh were also present.

Bahoran Lal Maurya said that BJP is the true well-wisher of Other Backward Classes (OBC). They will take the schemes of Yogi and Modi government to the people. They will also expose the false propaganda done by the opposition parties during the elections.
