On the night of Holi, BJP leader Ajit Chaudhary (30) shot himself on the terrace of his rented house. He was shot directly above his heart. Police reached the spot and investigated and recovered the pistol from the spot. Everyone is surprised by the BJP leader taking suicidal steps.
Deceased Ajit Chaudhary was originally a resident of Wasipur village of Didoli Kotwali area. His father Janam Singh passed away about ten years ago. The family consists of mother Suman Devi, wife Simple, daughter Angel. Ajit Singh’s elder brother Manmeet Singh has been living in Gajraula for a long time.
At present he had gone to Delhi in search of a job. He had an interview on Tuesday. Ajit Singh was one of the active workers of BJP. He had contested the election for the post of District Panchayat member twice, while he had also held the post of Mandal General Secretary Zoya.
Presently Ajit Chaudhary lived in a rented house in Pandit Deendayal Nagar of Dehat police station area with his wife Simple, daughter Angel and mother Suman Devi. The family had happily celebrated Holi on Monday. Ajit Chaudhary had gone to the terrace of the house at around ten o’clock in the night.
Here he first fired in the air once. After this, he loaded the pistol and took the second bullet close to his chest. As soon as the bullet hit, Ajit Chaudhary fell on the terrace. When his wife Simple reached the terrace after hearing the sound of the explosion, Ajit Chaudhary was lying unconscious, bleeding.
When wife Simple raised an alarm, a crowd of people from the locality gathered. Some relatives also reached. Immediately Ajit was admitted to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead. The police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. On the instructions of SP Kunwar Anupam Singh, the forensic team collected evidence.
Later the police sent the body for post-mortem. Additional Superintendent of Police Rajiv Kumar Singh said that Ajit Chaudhary has committed suicide. A pistol has also been recovered at the spot. He shot himself above the heart. The reason behind the suicide is being investigated.
