Expansion
In view of the sound of by-elections on 10 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh, BJP has intensified its election preparations. In this series, a meeting of the BJP Core Committee was held on Monday in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, in which the names of candidates for nine seats were brainstormed. A total panel of 27 names was finalized for all the nine seats in the meeting. This panel will be sent to Delhi. The final decision will be taken from there. Whereas it has also been decided to give Meerapur seat to RLD’s account. At the same time, no decision has been taken on giving seat to Nishad Party President Sanjay Nishad.
The meeting lasted for more than an hour at the Chief Minister’s residence in the presence of both Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, besides BJP State President Bhupendra Chaudhary and General Secretary Organization Dharampal. In this the names of all the ticket claimants were discussed. Apart from the names of the candidates, the campaign campaign and other preparations for the by-elections, membership campaign as well as improving coordination between the government and the organization were also discussed in the meeting. It has been decided that talks will continue between the Chief Minister and the State President from time to time.
In the meeting, except Meerapur, names of contenders for Milkipur, Katehari, Majhwan, Phulpur, Khair, Kundarki, Sisamau, Karhal and Ghaziabad seats were discussed. The district committees of BJP had sent a list of 10 names. In the meeting, three names have been decided for each of these seats. The interesting thing is that not a single Muslim leader is named among them. It was decided that this panel would be sent to Delhi.
Discussion on preparations for by-elections
It was said in the meeting that the by-election dates can be announced any time, hence the party will intensify its election campaign and carry out all the preparations. Besides, there was also discussion about the election tour program of party leaders and preparation of strategy by gathering seat-wise ground feedback.
Brainstorming on appointments in boards and corporations also
In the meeting, the BJP organization also discussed the appointments of officials in various government corporations, commissions and boards. The Chief Minister has asked the party organization to finalize the names and send them.
Doubt over giving two seats to Nishad
In the meeting, the Meerapur seat under RLD quota was discussed, but considering the Katehari and Majhwan seats claimed by Sanjay Nishad as BJP’s quota, a panel of names of the contenders has been prepared. In such a situation, at present there is doubt on the question of giving seat to Nishad. Actually, in the 2022 elections, Nishad Party had contested on Majhwan and Katehari seats, but only Majhwan could win.
