In the Malwan police station area of Fatehpur district, the body of a missing student from the madrasa was found floating in a well tied in a sack. There was a stir after the body was found 300 meters away from the madrasa on Sunday evening. Police have registered a case against two people and are interrogating them.
Akhtar Ali’s son Alim (9), a resident of Baraura in Malwan police station area, was studying Arabic in Ulema Madrasa in Saunra for two months. He had gone to the madrasa from home about five days ago. Family members said that Alim used to stay in the madrasa only.
On Saturday at around 5 pm from the madrasa, Maulvi Rakimuddin informed the family about Aalim’s disappearance. The family searched for the child till late night. When they could not find any clue, they informed the police.
The police assured of searching in the morning. The family reached the Madrasa area in the morning to search. Alim’s slippers were found lying some distance away from the well, 300 meters away from the Madrasa. They also searched in the bushes and jungle around the well. Shepherds saw a sack being lowered into the well at around five in the evening. When the news spread, the family reached the well again. The sack was taken out with the help of a fork. When the sack was opened, the family was shocked. The child’s hands, legs and mouth were tied with a rope and plastic tape.
The report was filed on Saturday morning on the information of the family. After strangling the child to death, the body was thrown into the well to dispose of it. The mother has alleged that the son had several times told the madrasa maulana and another person about abusing and beating him. On the basis of the mother’s complaint, a case of murder has been registered against Maulana Hafiz and Bill Nawaz. Both have been taken into custody for questioning. – Vijayshankar Mishra, ASP
