While presenting the UP Budget 2024, State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna presented the budget estimates and details of the works done for the public under various schemes.

He said that a provision of Rs 2400 crore has been proposed for the accelerated economic development plan for the state. Keeping in view the urgency of local needs of the districts, a budget of Rs 95 crore is proposed under the Critical Gaps Scheme to fill the critical gaps of various development works.

A provision of Rs 575 crore for Purvanchal Development Fund and Rs 425 crore for Bundekhand Development Fund is proposed.

He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), only 1.40 lakh houses were sanctioned in the year 2016 whereas till now 36 lakh 15 thousand houses have been sanctioned by our government, out of which 34 lakh 14 thousand houses have been completed and The remainder is under construction. A provision of about Rs 2441 crore is proposed for the scheme in the financial year 2024-25.

Similarly, under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana-Rural, construction of 02 lakh 03 thousand houses has been completed from the financial year 2018-2019 to 2023-2024. A provision of Rs 1140 crore is proposed for the scheme.

Under the Legislative Area Development Scheme, a provision of Rs 2520 crore (including GST) is proposed for development works in the financial year 2024-2025. A provision of about Rs 5060 crore is proposed for the implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
