The results of by-elections on nine seats of Uttar Pradesh have come out. Out of these nine seats, there is one seat where Akhilesh Yadav got a big shock. Although Kundarki is a Muslim dominated seat, BJP candidate Thakur Ramveer Singh has won from here with historic votes. Thakur Ramveer Singh defeated SP candidate Haji Mohammad Rizwan by a margin of 143192 votes, but understand how BJP got victory in this Muslim dominated seat.
Kundarki is a seat where 65 percent are Muslim voters. Due to such a large number of Muslim voters, Akhilesh Yadav was confident that the BJP candidate could not win here. Although the slogan of “Batenge to Katenge” was widely used in Uttar Pradesh, but in Kundarki the BJP candidate himself kept campaigning wearing Islamic cap and Arabic scarf. Ramveer Singh is famous for holding a bigger court than any MLA and participating in Muslim programs. Muslim voters voted for him in large numbers in this election. It seemed as if the Sheikh community was standing behind him, whereas Haji Rizwan, who belonged to the Turk community, was left behind among the people of his own community.
