The CBI team reached the DRM office and searched the documents in the electrical section and store. The team that came on the complaint of fraud in the purchase of LED and high mast lights investigated for about three hours. After this, she sealed the samples of expensive LED and high mast lights and took them along. The price of one of these LED lights is around Rs 90 thousand.
More than 150 lights have been installed across the railway division. Apart from this, high mast lights are more expensive than this. The complainant had informed the team that the lights and high mast lights installed on the poles in the Railway Division were not of the company whose tag was attached. There has been fraud worth several crores of rupees in purchasing these.
Based on this information, CBI collected information without revealing the identity in the DRM office for two consecutive days. After this, the team arrived on Thursday and started the investigation. The team asked for details of the purchase from the officials of the Electricity and Stores Department. Apart from the DRM office, the team also investigated the electrical section store located at Kapoor Company.
After going through the documents till late evening, the team sealed a sample of each type of light and took it with itself.
Investigation at power house and loco sub station also
Five members of the CBI team collected information by investigating in the electrical section of the DRM office, while another team of the same number of members investigated at the Railway Power House. At the Railway Power House located near Kapoor Company, the team took information about the purchase of other items besides lights.
Asked many questions from the employees present there. Also see register etc. Apart from this, five other members of the team reached the loco sub station located near the container depot. There he took information about the products purchased from private companies used in the electrical section of the Railways.
