Chief Secretary Durgacharan Mishra was scheduled to come to Aligarh late evening on 10th May. He was going to come here to review some development works and major projects. But suddenly his program was canceled due to personal reasons. Here, SP submitted a memorandum to the DM registering protest against the Chief Secretary’s visit amid the code of conduct.
Chief Secretary Durga Charan Mishra was scheduled to stop at the district headquarters on May 11 and inspect several projects of Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh University and Smart City. After that we would leave for Lucknow. SP had started protesting soon after their official programme. On May 9, a memorandum was given to the DM under the leadership of SP District President Lakshmi Dhangar and Lok Sabha candidate Ch. Bijendra Singh. In which it was said that the arrival of a top official to review the development works in this manner amid the code of conduct is raising questions.
Alleged that they are coming to discuss things which they cannot talk to the local officials over phone. If there are irregularities in the elections after his arrival, the public will protest. If they want to come to a private place then they should come without any government programme, there is no opposition to that. The SP requested the DM to cancel the tour. Abdul Hameed Ghoshi, Manoj Yadav etc. were present on this occasion. Meanwhile, late in the evening, the district administration received information from the state level about the cancellation of the Chief Secretary’s visit. However, since his visit program came on Thursday, officials were busy in preparations. ADM City has confirmed the cancellation of the event.
The hard work of smart city remained in vain
On the arrival of the Chief Secretary, the Smart City officials were most worried about the inspection of major projects of the Smart City. They were engaged in installing street lights in many areas of the city which were living in darkness, removing dust from the roads and repairing manhole covers. But after the sudden cancellation of the program the officials felt relieved.
