Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra has directed the DMs of all districts to select the centres for the police recruitment examination and provide the list to the recruitment board by June 27. He said that the committee constituted under the chairmanship of the DM will be fully responsible for the selection of examination centres. The Chief Secretary was addressing all the divisional commissioners, DMs and senior police officers through video conferencing on Tuesday.

The Chief Secretary said that this time the centers are to be selected in two categories. Category A includes Government Secondary School, Government Degree College, Central University, Polytechnic, Government Engineering College and Government Medical College. Category B includes reputed and well-equipped funded educational institutions, which are not in the black list and are not suspicious or controversial. Apart from this, the examination center should be in the urban area. If needed, the center should be selected on the main road within a diameter of 10 km in the urban area. A separate room should be arranged in the treasury for the question papers. During this, the Chief Secretary also reviewed the Agri Stack Farmer Registry, preparation for flood prevention, rain water harvesting.

There is no confusion about the new laws

The Chief Secretary said that there should be no confusion among the common people about the new criminal laws to be implemented from July 1. In view of this, special programs should be organized in all police stations on July 1. In which local people should be invited and given detailed information about the law. DGP Prashant Kumar said that in the new law, the processes from the crime scene to investigation and trial have been linked to technology. Witnesses will also have the freedom to testify through video conferencing.
