Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the work of the Medical Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education Department in a high-level meeting on Monday and gave necessary guidelines to the officials in this regard. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state government has improved medical and health facilities in the state and medical infrastructure is continuously increasing. Today 64 districts of Uttar Pradesh are covered with the facility of medical college. The unserved districts will soon be covered by medical college. He expressed his commitment to provide the benefit of Ayushman card to the people of the state above 70 years of age as per the wishes of Prime Minister Modi and directed the department to complete all the necessary work and process in this regard soon so that maximum eligible people can get the benefit of Ayushman card.

He said that the state government had launched a special campaign in the year 2017 for the control of communicable diseases like dengue, malaria, encephalitis, kala azar, chikungunya. Its good results are in front of all of us. Seeing these results, the state government runs a special campaign for communicable disease control every year in the months of April, July and October through inter-departmental coordination. Under this, people are made aware about communicable diseases by health workers. The next two months are sensitive in terms of communicable diseases. While making people aware for the prevention of communicable diseases through special campaigns, these works should be taken forward by the health department through inter-departmental coordination. Blood banks and blood separation units should remain functional in the districts. More and more people should be made aware about cleanliness through the Swachhata Pakhwada running from 17 September to 2 October.

The state government is going to establish AIIMS satellite centre in Ghaziabad district. For this, all the necessary procedures should be completed on time. Similarly, the construction process of KGMU’s satellite centre in Balrampur district should also be carried forward at a fast pace. Better arrangements for cleanliness and hygiene should be ensured in all medical colleges, district hospitals, community hospitals and primary hospitals. Doctors, paramedical staff and other personnel in all these hospitals should carry out the work with accountability so that people can get the benefit of better health facilities as per the government’s intention. Doctors should look at emergency cases with full sensitivity. 102 and 108 ambulance services are doing good work. Their work should be improved further. Proper security arrangements should be ensured in all hospitals.

Chief Minister Yogi said that the Medical and Health Department and the Medical Education Department should expedite the process of recruitment of principals, doctors and other supporting staff. He said that specialist doctors should be added with the facility of good remuneration and incentives as per the work.

The state government is continuously working towards ease of doing business and ease of doing business. In view of the better work of private hospitals, their registration period should be made at least three to five years.

All medical colleges should ensure the arrangement of a corpus fund for the maintenance of medical equipment like X-ray machine, ultrasound machine, CT scan, MRI machine and lift etc. The department should take advantage of the experiences of health volunteers during the Corona period.
