The reason for this is that this time Amavasya is starting from 2.40 pm on 31st October, whereas it will end by the afternoon of 1st November. According to the scriptures, the night of November 1 is not the date of Amavasya. Therefore this festival will be celebrated on 31st October only. Anyway, the festival of Diwali lasts for five days. Till now the Diwali holiday was scheduled for November 1, but now Diwali will be celebrated on October 31. In most schools there is a four-day holiday on the occasion of Diwali.

Yogi government had issued order

In the order issued by the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh, Diwali holiday has been given on 31st October. Then Govardhan Puja will be celebrated on 2nd November and Bhai Dooj will be celebrated on 3rd November. Schools in UP will remain closed during these four days. It is Friday on November 1st. Even on that day, attendance in schools will remain nominal.
