No permission to take out victory procession

The Additional Chief Secretary has said that on Tuesday, counting of votes will take place at a total of 81 places in seven police commissionerates and 68 districts. SP President Akhilesh Yadav has said that the Supreme Court, Election Commission and DGP should immediately take cognizance of the fact that apart from Mirzapur, Aligarh, Kannauj, in many districts of Uttar Pradesh, the District Magistrate and the Police Administration are illegally detaining political workers of the opposition in their homes so that they cannot participate in the counting of votes. Such incidents should be stopped immediately and those who have been administratively detained should be released immediately. When all political parties are working peacefully, then the government and administration should also not do any such unethical work which can lead to public anger. It is hoped that such biased DMs and administrative officers will be removed immediately.

A total of 851 candidates are in the fray

A total of 851 candidates are contesting in the Lok Sabha elections, of which 771 are men and 80 are women.
