On the lines of the National Capital Region (NCR), the government issued a notification of the Uttar Pradesh State Capital Region (SCR) Development Authority on Friday. The Chief Minister has been made the Chairman of the Authority, while the Chief Secretary will be the Vice-Chairman.
Apart from this, officers of various departments, DMs of districts, Vice Presidents of development authorities have been nominated as members of the authority. In the notification issued by Additional Chief Secretary Housing and Urban Planning Nitin Ramesh Gokarna, six districts including Lucknow have been included in the SCR.

According to the notification issued by the government, Lucknow, Hardoi, Sitapur, Unnao, Rae Bareli and Barabanki have been included in SCR. 27,826 sq km of land of these districts has been included in SCR. Its headquarters will be built in the capital.
Let us tell you that for its formation, the state government had recently issued an ordinance, in which provision was made for the formation of SCR and other area development authorities. With its formation, along with Lucknow, all the five other nearby cities will be developed in a planned manner, while civic and infrastructure facilities will also be developed rapidly in these cities.
The formation of SCR will also accelerate the economic development of the state. These districts will be developed on the lines of Delhi NCR. Development projects will gain momentum with the cooperation and coordination of all authorities. No authority will be merged. The existence of all will remain intact.
