Varanasi has got the first place in the state on the basis of better performance in maternity and child health services at government hospitals, health centers in Varanasi district. Dashboard racking is issued every month by the health department regarding health facilities.
This achievement has been achieved for doing good work on 16 indicators, including HIV testing of pregnant women, home-based newborn care, birth ratio, antenatal check-up, in the ranking released for April. Prior to this, the district was second, third in the ranking from January to March.
CMO Dr. Sandeep Chowdhary said that responsibility has been given to ACMO Dr. HC Maurya and National Health Mission District Program Manager Santosh Kumar Singh to monitor health facilities at hospitals, health centers as well as health and wellness centers. Health workers have been specifically asked to pay special attention to the quality of activities related to maternal health, child health, newborn health and nutrition. Between March 21 and April 21, 2023, there has been better performance in health services with 100 percent testing against the target.
