The Police Headquarters has prepared an action plan for this and sent it to all the Police Commissioners and Superintendents of Police. Besides, instructions have also been given to take action as per the action plan. In which it has been asked to run a campaign for the sale of illegal liquor, illegal arms trade, verification of licensed arms shops, monitoring of social media as well as taking strict action against those who violate law and order.

According to the instructions issued by the Police Headquarters, instructions have been given to collect information in a confidential manner about any kind of inducement given to voters, distribution of liquor or money and strict action should be taken against the culprits as well as mafia and active criminals. . All the police commissioners as well as the police captains of the district have been asked to prepare a strategy from now on to make strong arrangements of police force before voting, on the day of voting and counting and for the security of EVMs.

Police Headquarters has decided to prepare a checklist booklet and send it to all the districts to conduct the elections in a fair and transparent manner and ensure that the code of conduct is followed legally. Besides, instructions have been given to follow the model code of conduct by coordinating with Excise, Income Tax, Narcotics Control Bureau as well as the district administration. According to the information released by the Police Headquarters, it will be mandatory to take permission from the administration for organizing all election related programs and seminars. At the same time, road shows, publicity, use of vehicles, use of loudspeakers etc. will be allowed as per the instructions of the Election Commission.

There will be tight security at the booths

According to the action plan of the police headquarters, strict security arrangements will be made at the booths on the day of voting. Apart from police, PAC and paramilitary forces will be deployed at the booths. Besides, teams of static surveillance and flying squad will also keep touring.
