Now the workload limit of engineers in giving electricity connection in Power Corporation has been increased. Subdivision officers will now be able to issue connection upto 25 kilowatt (kV) in case of private institutions, commercial places and domestic connections. Earlier they were allowed only upto 10 kV. By increasing the powers, the delay in getting connection will end. Consumers will be able to get connection immediately. In this regard, the Board of Directors of Power Corporation issued an order on Wednesday.
According to the order, Junior Engineer (JE) has now got the authority to issue 4 KV connection to domestic and single commercial shop. Earlier they had the authority to issue only domestic connections. Similarly, Executive Engineer (XEN) will now be able to issue all types of connections from 25 KV to 3600 KV. Similarly, Superintending Engineer (SE) will now be able to issue all types of connections above 3600 MW. Earlier they had to take permission from the Chief Engineer.
The powers of engineers were also increased
The Power Corporation has also increased the powers of the engineers. Now the subdivision officers will be able to purchase materials worth up to 50 thousand rupees every month through quotations. Earlier they had the power to purchase only up to 10 thousand rupees. Earlier the XEN had the power to purchase one lakh rupees per month, which has now been increased to two lakh rupees and the maximum purchase limit for the month has been made five lakh rupees.
Similarly, SE will now be able to directly purchase up to Rs 5,000, while purchases of Rs 5 to 10 lakh can be made through tender. However, the maximum limit will remain Rs 25 lakh per month. The purchase limit of the Chief Engineer has been kept the same as before. Similarly, the limit of engineers has been increased in deposit (consumer fee based) works. Now Executive Engineer will be able to approve works of Rs 10 crore, Superintending Engineer will approve works of Rs 10 to 25 crore and Chief Engineer will approve works of more than Rs 25 crore. Technical approval will also have to be taken before approval.
The Engineers Union had been demanding this for a long time
State Electricity Council Engineers Association’s General Secretary Jitendra Singh Gurjar said that the association had been demanding for a long time to increase the power to increase the load. Increasing the load and financial power from the corporation will speed up the work.
