Due to heavy rain for one hour in the early hours of Wednesday, waterlogging occurred in many places in the city. Due to 40 mm rain, rainwater entered shops in many places including Godaulia, Hanuman Phatak. Apart from this, BHU Hospital and Trauma Center Campus were completely submerged.
On the other hand, waterlogging was seen from the gates of the district hospital, divisional hospital and women’s hospital to the inside. Patients reached the OPD by wading through the water to see the doctor. After a lot of hard work, the water was somehow drained out by evening. A wall also collapsed in the Doctors Colony in front of the district hospital, but there was no damage of any kind.
After midnight, rain started with strong winds at around 3 o’clock. The rain was so heavy that the roads were flooded in no time. The rain stopped after about an hour, but the waterlogging increased the trouble of the people. It was difficult to travel even on a two-wheeler.
