22-year-old Salauddin Quddusi was shot dead in Nagfani police station area on Thursday night over a dispute over DJ playing a song of his choice. Within 24 hours, the police registered a report against three people and arrested two accused.
Police are raiding in search of the third person. Haji Manzoor Ali, who lives near Angoorwali Masjid in Mohalla Tobaccowalan of the city, supplies raw materials to brass firms. Salauddin Quddusi was the youngest of five sons. He used to help his father in his work.
On Thursday night, Salauddin’s friend’s sister had a madha (a program to be held a day before the wedding) at King Palace located on Capital Road in Nagfani police station area. Salauddin had gone to this program. Where he had a dispute with Ahad, a resident of Beldaran Tehsil School, for playing a song of his choice on the DJ at 1 o’clock in the night.
After the program, when Salauddin left to go home, Ahad along with two of his associates surrounded him and started beating him. When he protested, the accused shot Salauddin in the stomach with a pistol.
After this the accused fled from the spot. The family took the injured Salauddin to the district hospital. From where the doctors referred him in critical condition. According to family members, Salauddin died in Zoya while being taken to Delhi.
SP City Akhilesh Bhadauria said that on the complaint of Salauddin’s elder brother Danish, a murder report was registered against Ahad, Ashhab and Sameer, residents of Beldaran Tehsil School.
Accused Sameer and Ahad have been arrested and sent to jail. Ashhab and Sameer are maternal uncle and nephew. The accused work as laborers in a brass firm.
