Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) Success Story: She became the first girl from the village to go to the city for higher education. There was a time when she was not able to speak English properly. She practiced every day to improve her command over English. The result of these efforts was that she topped the first semester of graduation and won an award. But the journey did not stop here, she continued to work hard and became an IAS officer. We are talking about IAS Surabhi Gautam.
Surbhi Gautam, who originally hails from a small village in Madhya Pradesh, is a lawyer by her father. Her mother is a teacher. Surbhi studied in a government school in the village. The school where she used to study lacked even basic facilities. But Surbhi did not give up and moved forward with the desire to do something big.
Surabhi Gautam was very good at studies from the beginning. As a result, she made her place in the state topper list in the 10th and 12th class exams. After completing her 12th class, she gave the exam for engineering studies and got success. After this, she became the first girl from the village who went to the city for higher education. Surabhi has done engineering in Electronics and Communication from Bhopal.
First Position in University
Surabhi, who studied in the government school of the village, did not have a good command over English. Due to which she had to face a lot of difficulties in speaking English in the initial days of college. Due to which she was also made fun of. But her determination to not lose courage and to keep trying continuously strengthened her hold on English. For which she learned at least 10 new words every day. The result of this effort was that Surabhi topped the first semester and also received the college Chancellor Award. Later she got the gold medal by securing first position in the university.
Got 50th rank in civil service examination
After engineering, she worked in BARC. She also succeeded in many competitive exams. In 2013, Surabhi topped the IES exam. Then in 2016, she became an IAS officer by securing 50th rank in the UPSC Civil Service Exam.
