The crisis of urea consumption has increased in Bihar. According to media reports, according to state agriculture secretary N Sarravana Kumar, Bihar has recently been allocated 32 percent less urea by the Center for the Kharif season. The state needs 10,30,000 metric tonnes of urea, while so far 7,00,105 metric tonnes (MT) of urea has been received. Officials say that the rate of urea allocation had increased in December last year. This time also the officials of the state government are saying that the situation will be normal soon.

50 kg packet cost Rs 400

The effect of shortage of urea is clearly visible on its prices as well. Government rate of 50 rupees packet of urea comes to 260 rupees. But due to the shortage of urea, it has gone up to Rs.400. There is a heavy burden on the pockets of the farmers. At the same time, some people are also doing black marketing by keeping it in stock. Earning huge amount from this.

6200 fertilizer shops raided

Seeing the shortage of urea, the officials have been alerted. On the instructions of the state government, the agriculture officers of all the districts are monitoring the distribution of fertilizers up to the panchayat level. It is being seen that what is the condition of urea distribution in the districts? The officials have also raided 6200 fertilizer shops in the state during the Kharif season. An FIR has been lodged against 117 people.

The central government said, the supply is getting right

While clarifying the situation, the central government said that there is no problem regarding the allocation of urea in any state. Consignment of urea is also being sent equally to Bihar. If there is any problem, the supply will be ensured soon.
