US Immigration Customs Enforcement Donald Trump Pledged to deport 18000 Indians Immigrant

US Immigration List: America’s newly elected President Donald Trump has decided to carry out the largest deportation in American history after assuming office on January 20, 2025. In preparation for this, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has prepared a list of approximately 1.5 million individuals for deportation. Out of them, about 18 thousand Indian citizens are in the list prepared by the US government and they are in danger of being sent back to India.

According to ICE data released in November 2024, 17,940 Indians are among the 15 lakh non-detained persons with final removal orders in the United States. According to Pew Research Center data, there are approximately 725,000 illegal immigrants from India in the US, making it the third largest population of illegal immigrants after Mexico and El Salvador.

In three years, 90 thousand Indians were caught crossing the American border.

Before the release of this data, in October the US had used a chartered flight to deport Indian citizens living in the country illegally. The flight to India on October 22 was organized in collaboration with the Government of India, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Thousands of undocumented Indians living in the US are struggling to legalize their status, with many taking years to get clearance from ICE.

An average of 90,000 Indians were caught trying to cross the US border illegally in the last three fiscal years. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed India in the “non-cooperative” category, citing delays in coordination by officials. According to ICE documents, Honduras tops the deportation list with 261,651 illegal immigrants, followed by Guatemala, Mexico and El Salvador.
