US Presidential Election 2024: India’s Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said on Tuesday (November 5) that no matter what the outcome of the US presidential election is, there will be continuous progress in relations between India and America. Speaking at a joint press conference with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong in Canberra, he described India’s relations with the US as strong and stable. Jaishankar also said that India-US relations have seen a steady growth in the last five US presidential terms and the same trend will continue in the future.

During this, Jaishankar also mentioned the contribution of former US President Donald Trump, during whose tenure the Quad alliance was revived. He called it an important development in the Indo-Pacific region. The Foreign Minister said that the impact of the steps taken during the Trump administration is clearly visible even today on the relations between the two countries. He believes that the future of India-US relations is very positive, no matter what the election results are.

Possibility of continued progress in India-US relations

Jaishankar further said, “We have seen that there has been continuous progress in India-US relations in the last few years. From Trump’s tenure to the current administration, there has been stability.” He said that no matter who wins the US elections today, there will be no hindrance in India-US partnership. It is estimated that the results of the US Presidential election may be revealed on Wednesday i.e. today, although there is a possibility of delay in the results.

Jaishankar’s visit to Australia

S. Jaishankar is currently on a tour of Australia where he addressed the Indian diaspora in Brisbane and inaugurated a new consulate. During her visit, she co-chaired the 15th India-Australia Foreign Ministers’ Framework Dialogue with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong. In this meeting, the growing strategic relations between the two countries, defense cooperation, trade relations, and educational cooperation were discussed. Jaishankar said that India-Australia The relations have now become stronger which will also impact regional and global security.
