Uttar Pradesh Free Electricity to farmers scheme know full rules and regulations


Free Electricity UP: The central government and state governments run many schemes to help the farmers. The objective of these schemes is to provide economic benefits to the farmers and help in farming. In this sequence, the Uttar Pradesh government had announced to provide free electricity to farmers for irrigation. Which is now being implemented. However, some rules and regulations have been made by the government. To provide relaxation, candidates can register till 30 June 2024. For this they will have to go to the official site uppcl.org.

According to reports, only those farmers will get the benefit of free electricity. Farmers who do not have any dues before March 23. If the farmer has outstanding dues then he will have to clear them to avail the benefits of this scheme. The government has also fixed the limit on consumption of free electricity for irrigation. On behalf of the Energy Department, UP Power Corporation has also issued an order in this regard.

What kind of discount is available?

There is talk of giving the benefit of free electricity to farmer brothers for irrigation from April 1, 23. But farmers will have to pay all the outstanding dues before March 31, 2023. The department has given 3 options to repay the remaining money. In the first option, farmer brothers can pay the dues in lump sum. In which there will be 100 percent exemption in interest and late surcharge. Whereas through the second option, if the farmer pays the dues in three equal installments, then up to 90 percent rebate in interest and late surcharge will be provided.

Under the third option, farmers will get the facility to repay the outstanding amount in six installments. At the same time, 80 percent rebate will be provided in interest and surcharge. If farmers choose the option of paying the dues in installments and are not able to deposit it on time, then they will not be given the benefit of exemption.

what is the benefit

Farmer brothers will not have to pay a single rupee per 140 unit kilowatt for connections up to 10 horse power 7.46 kilowatts. If more units are operated than this, the extra money will have to be paid to the farmer brothers. At the same time, connections with a capacity of more than 10 horse power i.e. 7.46 kilowatts will not cost Rs 1045 per unit per month. Whereas if there are more units than this, then Rs. will have to be deposited.
