The head constable appointed in MPTC-G company of Manipur state was on duty in Kabrai. Another soldier fell down after ingesting gas while on duty. He was admitted to Primary Health Center Srinagar.

The soldiers of MPTC-G Company of Manipur state came on election duty in Mahoba. The entire company was accommodated in a school in Kabrai. Late on Sunday night, the condition of head constable Mangiathang Haokip (55) of the company suddenly deteriorated. Other soldiers took him to the district hospital in critical condition. Where he died during treatment at four o’clock on Monday morning. Additional SP Satyam told that seven companies had come to Mahoba to conduct Lok Sabha elections. Mangiathang was already ill and he stayed in his camp. The matter has been informed to higher officials. A postmortem of the body has been done.

On the other hand, SAPW Surjeet Singh of Manipur Force, who was on duty at the polling booth set up in Government Inter College, Srinagar during the elections, suddenly fell ill. His blood pressure went down. Due to this he fainted and fell down. This created chaos there. His companions took him to the primary health centre. Where he is being treated. Medical officer in-charge Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh said that the soldier had suffered dehydration due to high temperature. Due to this the blood pressure became low. His condition is improving after treatment.
