According to the information, the train going from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminal to Goa’s Madgaon railway station was diverted to another route due to a technical fault. Actually, Vande Bharat train was going to Margao on its scheduled route, but due to a technical fault at Diva station in Thane district of Maharashtra, it went on another route. While returning from the other route, the train has been delayed by 90 minutes in its journey to Goa.

Railway officials gave information

Railway officials have given information about the train deviating from its route. A railway official said that instead of heading towards Panvel station on the Diva-Panvel railway route used by Konkan-bound trains, the express train had turned towards Kalyan at 6.10 am. Due to this incident, local train services of Mumbai on Central Railway have also been delayed. Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Swapnil Neela said that the incident occurred due to a disturbance in the signaling and telecommunication system at point number 103 between the Down Fast Line and the Fifth Line at Diva Junction.

How do loco pilots know the route?

Now you must be wondering how the loco pilot of the train knows the route. According to the information, the loco pilot gets information about which track he should go from the home signal. This signal itself tells the loco pilot on which track to take the train forward and which track has been decided for which train. Where a track is divided into more than one part, the signal is set 300 meters in advance.

Let us tell you that the Railways deploys the duty of two loco pilots in every train. Out of which one is loco pilot and the other is assistant loco pilot. In case of emergency, even if there is any problem, a loco pilot takes charge of the situation.
