Semi high speed train Vande Metro from Lucknow to Kanpur can be launched soon. Officials are expecting to get Rs 240 crore for this in the railway budget. Similarly, passengers can get the gift of Vande Bharat Express from Gomtinagar to Bhopal and new trains for Katra and Puri.

A total of Rs 2.62 lakh crore has been allocated for railways in the general budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday. In this, Rs 1.08 lakh crore has been allocated for safety and maintenance. Top officials are hopeful that a blueprint has been prepared to run Vande Metro between Lucknow and Kanpur. For this, interlocking of stations on the route, track maintenance etc. has already been done. Track speed is also being increased on the route. The speed of Vande Metro running for Kanpur will be between 130 to 160 km per hour. This will cover the distance to Kanpur in just 45 minutes, which will provide great relief to the passengers. At the same time, there are also preparations to start Vande Bharat from Gomtinagar to Bhopal. There is already a plan to start a train for Puri and Katra.

The upgradation of Charbagh station will gain momentum

The work of upgrading the Charbagh station of Northern Railway is being done. The second entry is being made. The construction of the air concourse will start soon. Rs 450 crore has been received for the upgradation. The work will be accelerated after getting the money for this in the budget. The development of Amrit Bharat stations will also gain momentum.

Four lane outer will be constructed, delay of trains will reduce

A four-lane outer is to be built from Charbagh towards Dilkusha and Alamnagar. Work has already begun for the Dilkusha outer. After the four-lane outer is built, trains will not have to stop at the outer. This will reduce their delays.

To prevent train accidents in Lucknow division, a lot of money will be spent on safety and passenger safety in trains. Up to 100 crore rupees can be available for this. From this, CCTV cameras to handheld machines, luggage scanners, integrated security system will be made.
