In a public health awareness program organized by the Urology Department of IMS BHU, people were made aware about organ donation. Chief guest IMS BHU Director Prof. SN Sankhwar said that it is everyone’s responsibility to encourage organ donation. This can give someone a new life.
In the program on Indian Organ Donation Day, Prof. Sankhwar appreciated the work of Urology, Nephrology Department for organ donation and kidney transplantation. Prof. Sameer Trivedi, Chairman of Urology Department said that organ donation is a great deed, which can save many lives.
He said that through various programmes, the myths about organ donation will be dispelled. Along with this, registration will also be done.
Head of the Nephrology Department, Prof. Shivendra Singh said that such programs are necessary to deal with the increasing demand for organs and the suffering of patients in need of organ transplantation. MBBS students created awareness about organ donation through a short play. Associate Professor Dr. Ujjwal Kumar told about the organ donation pledge.
