Bharatiya Janata Party has so far announced 51 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh. In the BJP Core Committee meeting in Delhi on Monday, the selection of candidates for 25 seats of UP was discussed. In the meeting held in the presence of BJP President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the seats to be given to the BJP as well as its allies were also discussed.

Actually, BJP contenders are waiting for tickets from three Lok Sabha seats of Bareilly division, Bareilly, Badaun and Pilibhit. It was expected that candidates for these seats would be decided in the second list of the party, but this did not happen. After the release of the second list on Wednesday, speculations about changes in the three Lok Sabha constituencies intensified.

Age is coming in the way of Bareilly MP Santosh Gangwar’s candidature for the tenth consecutive time. According to sources, he is engaged in strong lobbying in his favor citing Hema Malini and some other leaders getting tickets.

At the same time, Badaun MP Sanghamitra Maurya had created a crisis due to his father Swami Prasad Maurya’s continuous controversial statements against the BJP. However, Swami Prasad has parted ways with the Samajwadi Party by forming the Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party.
