Vibhishana is a devotee of lord rama who told rama the secret of killing lankapati ravan

Ramayan: ‘An insider does the maximum damage’ This proverb is very popular and you must have heard it too. Usually, if a member of the family reveals the secret of the family and causes its destruction, then he is called a traitor. This proverb is used in the context of Vibhishan.

Who was Vibhishana? (Who is Vibhishana)

Vibhishana is one of the main characters of Ramayana. He is the younger brother of Ravana. Along with this, he is also a devotee of Ram. While living in Lanka, Vibhishana worshipped Ram and vowed to always follow the path of righteousness. When Ravana kidnapped Sita and brought her to Lanka, Vibhishana told Ravana that kidnapping another’s woman is a great sin. Vibhishana also advised him to return Sita. But Ravana, as always, did not listen to his younger brother Vibhishana. Ultimately, Ravana expelled Vibhishana from Lanka as well. When Ravana expelled Vibhishana from Lanka, he went to the refuge of his Lord Shri Ram.

Killing Ravana was not easy

Here, it was necessary to fight a war with Ram to bring Sita back. But killing Ravana was not that easy. Because Ravana had prayed to Brahma for immortality. Brahma Ji did not grant him immortality but put Amrit in Ravana’s navel. After this, Ravana had no fear of death.

Vibhishan told Ram the secret of Ravana’s death (Secret of Ravana Death)

When there was a war between Ravana and Rama, Rama could not kill him. Then Vibhishan told Rama the secret to kill Ravana. Vibhishan told Rama to attack Ravana’s navel. Rama did the same, due to which the Amrit Kalash in Ravana’s navel broke and he was killed.

Mandodari’s one mistake became the cause of Ravana’s death

But Ravana’s death was not possible with an ordinary arrow. Rather, Lord Rama killed Ravana with a special divine weapon. It is said that Mandodari was also involved in Ravana’s death along with Vibhishan. A mistake of Mandodari became the cause of Ravana’s death. Actually, when Brahma Ji put nectar in Ravana’s navel, he also gave him an arrow in the form of a divine weapon. Brahma Ji said that your death is possible only with the attack of this arrow. Vibhishan told Shri Ram about that arrow. But Vibhishan had no information about where the arrow was. Then Ram Ji entrusted the responsibility of finding the arrow to Hanuman Ji.

Hanuman obtained Divyastra through his cleverness

Hanuman ji reached Lanka in the form of an astrologer and started telling people their future. Mandodari also wanted to know the future. Hanuman told her that Ravana is in danger because of the arrow given by Brahma ji. Then Mandodari said that this cannot happen, the arrow is safe behind Ravana’s throne. As soon as Hanuman found out about the arrow, he took it from there and gave it to Shri Ram and after this Ravana was killed with the same arrow given by Brahma ji.

It was decided that Ravana would be killed by Shri Ram, which happened. But Vibhishan is considered to have played an important role in this. Therefore, after killing Ravana, Ram made Vibhishan the King of Lanka and also gave him the boon of immortality. Therefore, Vibhishan is also one of the seven immortals.
