Five days ago in Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj, a boy from a village near the city was raped by three accused. On the boy’s complaint, his father gave a written complaint to the Sadar Kotwali police, but the case was not registered. The police got the boy medically examined.
Hurt by the FIR not being registered, the father of the victim reached the Collectorate with his wife and children. Threatening self immolation, he poured kerosene on himself. This created panic among the security personnel. They immediately stopped him from doing so and made him sit in the premises and informed the police.
The family expressed their anger against the police for not taking any action against the accused in the child rape case. The father alleged that the Kotwali police was delaying the case and not taking any action. He said that the police only got the medical tests done.
The father said that the accused Jitin, Ronak and Sumit held his son hostage in a room in the mango orchard and raped him. The accused are roaming around threatening him. In protest against this, the family of the victim child reached the Collectorate and protested. They poured kerosene on themselves. This created panic among the workers and security personnel present there.
The security personnel made the family members sit and informed the Sadar Kotwali police about the matter. The Sadar Kotwali police reached the spot and brought the victim’s family to Sadar Kotwali in their car. On the complaint of the father, the police registered a case against the three accused under sections of misdeed and POCSO Act etc. The police is searching for the accused.
