50-year-old Victoria was stabbed to death in the church compound located in the Cantonment area in Varanasi district on Monday morning. On the first day of the year, there was a stir in the police department as soon as information about a sensational incident was received in a highly secured area of the city. Cantt police station is on the spot with dog squad and forensic team. Police suspect a trolley driver, who is being searched. It is suspected that the woman was murdered after failing in an attempt to force herself on him.

Victoria, a resident of Gumla, Jharkhand, lived with her sister Retina in the staff quarters of the Church Compound located in the cantonment area. Victoria used to do cleaning work in the church. According to Retina, she had gone to her work at the church at 7:30 in the morning.

On the other hand, church guard Vivek told that after hearing Victoria’s scream, he went towards her room and seeing her soaked in blood, he immediately sent her to the district hospital. Victoria died while being taken from the district hospital to BHU hospital.
