Scientists have found in the study of particular sharks that they kill their prey in a special way. These fish first use their tail to kill their prey and looking at their acrobatics it seems that they are showing the “miracle of yoga”. He specially studied the bones of these sharks and explained how they are able to do wonders.
Thresher sharks are marine animals whose sickle-like tail is very active. They are found in tropical and temperate oceans of the world. Compared to other sharks, their hunting method is very different. It was a mystery to scientists for a long time as to how the Thresher Shark does this work with such precision.
Thresher sharks do not first bite or chew their prey with their teeth. According to the New York Times, they first attack them in a unique way with their tail. Biologist Maryanne Porter of Florida Atlantic University says that this shark seems to be doing a very strange kind of yoga.

Porter and his team tried to find out the truth behind this acrobatics of the thresher shark. In the study published in Royal Society Open Science, the team studied 10 thresher sharks ranging from embryos to 13-foot-long adults. The team took a lot of X-rays and extracted their 3D structures, which revealed the reason for their amazing abilities.
Researchers found that the mineralized plates in the shark’s spine appeared like the spokes of a bike wheel. They use their tail like a whip and can swim very fast. While feeding very quickly, they use their tail to attack their prey. Their special spinal bones help them in doing this. During this time, due to the plates of their spine, they are able to make special combinations in the back and forward movements, due to which they do this feat easily and it seems that they are doing acrobatic or yoga in a wonderful way.
