Nagaur. Virat Jaleshwar Mahadev Shivling located in the north-east corner of Nagaur district is the biggest in Asia. This Shivling was built during the time of Raja Bakht Singh. But due to flood in 1935, this Shivling was submerged in water. Even after being submerged for 86 years, this Shivling did not break. Shivling appeared again in 2016.
Priest Ashok Chhangani told that this Shivling was built between 1725 and 1750. At that time Nagaur district came under Jodhpur princely state. At the time of the construction of Shivling, the ruler of Nagaur district was Raja Bakht Singh. This Shivling was decorated with the title of Bakhtsagar by the king. This Shivling is situated in the middle of the seven cornered Bakhtsagar of Nagaur.
The height and width of the Shivling of Virat Jaleshwar Mahadev is mysterious. Priest Ashok Chhangani told that the tank of this Shivling is made of 308 feet. The height of this Shivling is different in different directions. The height of this Shivling is 13 feet from north, 15 feet from south, 18 feet from east and 17 feet from west. The Jalhari of this Shivling is made of 81 feet. The width of the upper surface of this Shivling is 32 feet. At the same time, the width of this Shivling is 30 feet from the middle. This Shivling was last seen in 1933. This Shivling was visible on March 7, 2016 after being submerged for 86 years.
Virat Jaleshwar Shivling is situated in the middle of Bakhtasagar of Nagaur. Which is considered the biggest Shivling of Asia. This is an issue related to religious beliefs. That’s why News18 does not confirm this.
