Visibility likely to be affected due to dense fog during Republic Day celebrations in Delhi | Republic Day 2024: Republic Day celebrations will be covered with dense fog, know

Republic Day 2024 News: 75th in the country’s capital Delhi Republic Day Moderate to dense fog may affect visibility during the ceremony. India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave this information on Thursday (January 25). According to IMD, due to fog, people will be able to see only 400 meters till 8.30 am on Friday. After this, the visibility level may improve to 1,500 meters by 10:30 in the morning. The weather office informed that the minimum temperature on Friday is likely to be between five to seven degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department said the absence of active Western Disturbance weather systems is one of the primary reasons for the persistence of a hazy layer of fog over the plains of the region since December 25. The absence of active Western Disturbance weather systems originates in the Mediterranean region and brings unseasonal rainfall over northwest India. Generally, five to seven western disturbances affect the region during these months. It said that no strong western disturbance has been seen in the region so far this winter.

So far two western disturbances have affected the country. One in December and the other in January, but their impact was limited to Gujarat, North Maharashtra, East Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Three conditions are required for fog to form: weak low-level winds, moisture, and overnight coolness. Strong western disturbances characterized by strong winds and rainfall disrupt these conditions. Apart from this, according to IMD, the minimum temperature is expected to reach 11 degrees and the maximum temperature is expected to reach 21 degrees by January 29.
