In the interview, Vivek Oberoi said that even before doing films, he had started his business journey so that he could earn income. But he started paying less attention to business and more to films, due to which he faced a lot of problems.

Vivek Oberoi had said, ‘I started business even before films. When I returned from boarding at the age of 15 and got admission in Mithibai College, I became friends with a girl. Papa gave me 500 rupees pocket money and I went on a date with that girl and spent the entire money in one go. When Papa came to know about it, he scolded me a lot. He said be responsible and my ego was hurt. Then I did a small voice gig, composed shows and started earning.’

Vivek further said, ‘After this, films like ‘Company’ and ‘Saathiya’ became hits. Life started going well, then my back to back films started to flop, I started getting less work. Papa’s films also did not do well because he had worked a lot. There was a shortage of money in my house, then I started investing money in some places, then started a business.’

Vivek further said, ‘Now I am not dependent on films, my business is doing well, with that I run the office, pay salaries to my employees, run a charitable foundation and also run the house. However, if I get an offer for a good film or series, I do that too.’

Vivek Oberoi started his career with the 2002 film Company. In Vivek’s 22-year film career, he did a lot of films but successful films like ‘Masti’, ‘Krrish 3’, ‘Saathiya’, ‘Company’, ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, ‘Grand Masti’, ‘Great Grand Masti’, ‘Yuva’, ‘Dum’, ‘Omkara’ have been done. Vivek has also done some South Indian films. Vivek was last seen in Rohit Shetty’s OTT release film Policewala.
