Volkswagen Skoda Group produced over fifteen lacs units in India from year 2009

More than 15 lakh vehicles manufactured at Chakan plant

Skoda Auto-Volkswagen India Group has produced 15 lakh vehicles in the country since 2009, starting with the Skoda Fabia hatchback. This achievement includes iconic models of the Volkswagen Group such as the Vento and Polo, and the Skoda Rapid, as well as new models based on the MQB-A0-IN platform such as the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, and the Skoda Kushaq and Slavia.

More than 3.8 lakh engines manufactured at Chakan plant

The engine shop at the Chakan plant for Skoda Auto-Volkswagen India Group has been operational for the past ten years. The plant has manufactured more than 3.8 lakh engines. The special thing about this is that most of the parts of the 1-litre TSI engine have been manufactured in India itself.

India 2.0 Project

The automaker group claims to have manufactured over 3 lakh vehicles under its India 2.0 project. Under this project, Skoda Auto-Volkswagen India Group has designed and manufactured the Volkswagen Tigun and Virtus as well as the Skoda Kushak and Slavia, all of which are based on the MQB-A0-IN platform.

30 percent of cars were exported to 40 countries

Skoda Auto-Volkswagen India Group exports 30 percent of its vehicles manufactured in India to over 40 countries, making India the company’s fourth largest export hub globally.
