Did Pakistan want rule over Lakshadweep?

Actually what happened was that when the British left India, India also had to suffer the brunt of partition. At that time Mohammad Ali Jinnah wanted to merge all those princely states which were Muslim majority with Pakistan. Lakshadweep was also a Muslim dominated area. Where 93 percent of the population was Muslim.

While sharing this story with the people of the country in his monthly radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’ in October 2019, PM Modi had told how the ‘Iron Man’ of India not only united important princely states like Hyderabad and Junagadh, but also Lakshadweep. Was also saved from Pakistan.
The PM had said that, right after partition in 1947, our neighbor had its eyes on Lakshadweep. A ship with their flag was being sent there. When Sardar Patel came to know about this, he immediately took action and asked the Mudaliar brothers of the southern state to immediately go to Lakshadweep along with the people of Travancore state. After this, Ramaswami and Lakshmanaswami Mudaliar reached there and hoisted the tricolor of India and broke the ‘nefarious dream’ of the neighbour. In this way, Pakistan’s dream of capturing Lakshadweep could never be fulfilled.
