On Friday (April 19), the Meteorological Department said that till Saturday, winds may blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour in the capital Delhi and there will be light rain. In such a situation, Delhiites will get respite from the heat till next week.

According to the information, the temperature in Delhi may remain between 22 to 36 degrees Celsius for the next four-five days. However, later it will increase and cross 40 degrees due to which the people of Delhi will also have to face the scorching heat. There is a possibility of rain and hailstorm in Punjab and Haryana adjacent to the national capital Delhi till Saturday. On Friday too, hail fell along with rain, due to which crops were damaged. However, this has provided some relief from the heat. Till April 20, due to Western Disturbance, similar light rains will continue in Punjab and Haryana and winds will blow at a speed of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. In both the states, farmers have been advised to keep the harvested crops in safe places.

How will be the weather in other states of the country?

The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of moderate rain with thunderstorms in Northeast India till April 21. This situation will persist for the next six days in some parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, while in North India, in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, the speed will reach up to 40 km per hour till the 21st of this month. Strong winds can blow. Winds will also blow in Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. In the southern states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning till 21st.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of severe heat for the next three days in some areas of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Also, the weather will be hot and humid in West Bengal, Odisha, Goa, Gujarat and Karnataka today and tomorrow and for the next four days in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. Yellow alert of heat wave has been issued in eight districts of West Bengal.
