IMD Weather Update: With the onset of cold in North India, the rainy season is still continuing in many parts of the country. Cyclonic wind conditions persist in the East-Central Arabian Sea, due to which the wind direction has changed in many states. After the scorching heat of the last three days, there was heavy rain in Mumbai. The Meteorological Department issued a yellow alert in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and South Konkan. At the same time, a drop in temperature was recorded in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, due to which cold is being felt in the evening and morning in these states.
Storm alert in Mumbai
According to the Meteorological Department, there are chances of intermittent rain with thunderstorms in Mumbai till the morning of Tuesday (22 October 2024). Apart from this, a warning has also been given of strong winds in the surrounding areas including Mumbai. IMD said that eastern and western winds are colliding, due to which it is raining in these areas. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the cyclone situation in the Arabian Sea, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain at many places and heavy rain at some places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh during 24 to 26 October 2024.
Heavy rain in Tamil Nadu-Odisha
According to IMD, there may be heavy rain at different places in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on October 21, for which a yellow alert has been issued. Apart from this, a yellow alert has been issued in Odisha regarding heavy rains during 23, 24 and 25 October 2024.
The weather of Uttar Pradesh also seems to be changing now. Here the nights are mildly cold and the heat of the sun is felt during the day. No warning has been issued regarding rain here. As cold is entering Delhi, the level of pollution is also increasing rapidly. At present there is no hope of reduction in pollution here.
