IMD Weather Update: Rainfall continues during the cold season in many states across the country. The weather has taken a sudden turn due to the activation of Western Disturbance in Delhi and other parts of North India. On December 27, it rained in many areas in the capital Delhi and surrounding areas, due to which traffic was affected at many places. The weather department has predicted more rain during the day. Due to rain, traffic was affected in many areas of South, Central and North Delhi. The Meteorological Department said that the rain started in Delhi-NCR at around 2:30 in the morning.
According to the data of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) till 11:30 am, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in many parts of different states including Delhi and Uttar Pradesh on Saturday. The observatory in Safdarjung, Delhi’s primary weather station, recorded 9.1 mm rainfall. The Palam-based observatory recorded rainfall at 8.4 mm, Lodhi Road (10.8 mm), Ridge (9 mm), Delhi University (11 mm) and Pusa (9.5 mm).
Meteorological department officials said that due to active western upwelling and its interaction with easterly winds, light to moderate rain and thundershowers are occurring over northwest and central India including NCR areas of Delhi.

IMD has predicted further fall in temperature in Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan regions in the next two days. According to Naresh Kumar, a scientist at IMD, a western disturbance currently located near Punjab and adjoining areas may cause light rain or snowfall in isolated parts of the western Himalayan region.
Chance of rain in Bihar in the next two to three days
According to meteorology, the weather of Bihar is going to change in the next two to three days. There is a possibility of light rain and thundershowers at some places along with cloudy sky in the districts including Patna. After December 29, there is a possibility of increase in cold with minimum temperature falling by two to three degrees due to Pachhua.
