Weather Update Tomorrow 17 January, Cold Wave In Delhi-ncr, Haryana, Punjab


IMD Weather Updates: Where severe cold wave is going on in the plains of the country, there is heavy snowfall in the hilly areas. According to the Meteorological Department, after a few days relief from this severe cold will start. The Meteorological Department said on Monday (January 16) that on January 18 and 20, two western disturbances can affect northwest India one after the other. Because of which the cold wave condition in North West India is likely to end from January 19.

The department said that cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are likely in many parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar till 18th. Along with this, there is a possibility of frost at isolated places in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and western Uttar Pradesh on January 17 and 18.

Snowfall will continue in hilly areas

Apart from this, a new Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan region from the night of January 18. Under its influence, rain/snow is likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal and Uttarakhand during January 18-20. Another active Western Disturbance is very likely to affect western Himalayan region from 20th January night and adjoining plains of northwest India from 22nd January. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of light rain in the plains of North-West India from 22 to 24 January.

How will the temperature be?

According to the Meteorological Department, by the morning of January 17, there is a possibility of a further drop of about 2 degree Celsius in the minimum temperature in many parts of northwest India. There will be no significant change till 18th and there may be an increase of 4-6 degree Celsius during 19-21 January. There is a possibility of a drop of 2-4 degree Celsius in the minimum temperature over many parts of East India till 18th and no significant change thereafter.

On the other hand, there will be no significant change in the minimum temperature in the state of Gujarat till 18th and after that it is likely to increase by 2-4 degree Celsius. There will be no significant change in minimum temperatures over rest of North India during next 4-5 days.
