Saumitra Khan On Hindus: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Saumitra Khan on Friday (July 26) claimed that five to seven thousand Rohingya Muslims are entering West Bengal every day and the situation of Hindus in the state is going to be like the situation in Jammu and Kashmir in 1990, when Kashmiri Pandits were expelled from there. He also demanded the formation of a committee to study this matter.
BJP MP Khan also alleged that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government of West Bengal is neck deep in corruption. Participating in the general discussion on the Union Budget for the financial year 2024-25, Vishnupur MP Saumitra Khan said that every day five to seven thousand Rohingya Muslims are crossing the border and coming to the state and the state government does not care about it.
‘Hindus are being threatened to be thrown out of Bengal’
He alleged, “The Chief Minister of West Bengal is hell-bent on destroying the integrity of the country.” He accused a West Bengal minister of using derogatory words against Hindus and said, “The minister is saying that Hindus will be driven out of the state.” The BJP MP further said that what happened in the Kashmir Valley in 1990 should be remembered and the same situation is going to happen in West Bengal now. He also demanded that a committee be formed to investigate this.
Mamata Banerjee’s comment on giving shelter to Bangladeshis
On one hand, while the issue of Rohingya Muslims in Bengal was raised in the Parliament by a BJP MP, on the other hand, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is talking about giving shelter to the victims of Bangladesh violence. In such a situation, a turmoil is being seen in the politics of the state.
