Mamata Banerjee On Amartya Sen Remark: Nobel laureate Amartya Sen had given a statement regarding West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in which he had said that Mamta Banerjee has the potential to become the Prime Minister. Mamta Banerjee has now given an answer regarding this. He has said that this advice seems like an order to him.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that Nobel laureate Amartya Sen’s “advice” is an “order” for her. Sen had said a few days ago that Trinamool Congress chief Banerjee has the potential to become the next Prime Minister of the country. Speaking to a news channel here on Sunday, Banerjee said the economist is a “world-renowned intellectual” and his “knowledge shows us the way”.

What did Mamta Banerjee say?

The Chief Minister said, “His advice is an order for me. His knowledge and assessment of the current situation in the country should be taken seriously by all.” Sen (90) in an exclusive interview to ‘PTI-Bhasha’ here said, “It is not that she (Banerjee) does not have the capability to do so (to become prime minister). They clearly have potential. On the other hand, it has not yet been established that Mamata can pull the forces of public frustration against the BJP in a unified manner.

He also said that it would be “a mistake” to think that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections would be unilaterally in favor of the Bharatiya Janata Party and underlined the importance of DMK, TMC and Samajwadi Party.
