West Bengal Pharmacy Student Death: The case of rape and murder of a junior doctor of RG Kar Medical College in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, had not yet settled down when the case of the body of a pharmacy student being found in Murshidabad of the state has come to light. The body of a first year pharmacy student was found hanging from his hostel room.

The deceased was a first year student of a private pharmacy college in Raghunathpur, Murshidabad. The family of the 19-year-old victim, Tauheed Karim, a resident of English Bazar in Malda, claimed that the student was first murdered and then his body was hung from the ceiling of the hostel room. Tauheed’s father said that he found his son lying on the floor of the hostel room and was told by his classmates that Tauheed had committed suicide.

The family made this allegation

The family alleges that their son was murdered in a premeditated manner, as the dead student’s eyes were bloodshot and there were several injuries on his body. After the incident, when a written complaint was lodged at Raghunathganj police station in Murshidabad district, the police refused to take the complaint. It is being said that action will be taken on the charge sheet after the post-mortem report. Not only this, the college authorities and the police station were asked not to inform the media.

What did the father of the deceased say?

The deceased student’s father Rezaul Karim alleged that he had spoken to his son on the night of the 12th, the boy had asked him to bring mango pickle and umbrella from home. He said that my son was not suffering from any mental depression. If he was suffering from mental depression then we could have understood his son’s message on the night of the 12th. I am a lorry driver by profession. I was in Raghunathganj on the 13th, my son’s phone was switched off since morning.
