Manoj Bajpayee and Sharmila Tagore’s film Gulmohar has been selected as the Best Hindi Film at the 70th National Film Awards. Nithya Menon has been selected as the Best Actress for the Tamil film Tiruchitraambalam and Manasi Parekh has been selected as the Best Actress for the Gujarati film Kutch Express. Apart from this, Sooraj Barjatya has received the Best Director award for the film Unchai. Neena Gupta has won the Best Supporting Actress award for the same film. Arijit Singh has won the award for Brahmastra in the playback singing category. Let us tell you that these awards have been given for those films which have been given censor certificate by the Film Censor Board between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022. The award ceremony is to be held in October 2024.

Best Film- Silver Lotus and prize money of Rs. 1 Lakh.

Best Actor- Silver Lotus and prize money of Rs. 50 thousand.

When did the National Award start?

National Film Award is the most prestigious film award in the country. It was started in 1954. The first National Award in the Best Film category was given to the Marathi film ‘Shyamchi Aai’.
