Today, on 16th August, the 70th National Film Awards have been announced. Manoj Bajpayee and Sharmila Tagore’s film Gulmohar has been chosen as the best Hindi film. Kantara has won the Best Actor and Best Film awards. Rishabh Shetty has been chosen as the best actor for the film. National Film Award
Manoj Bajpayee and Sharmila Tagore’s film Gulmohar has been selected as the Best Hindi Film at the 70th National Film Awards. Nithya Menon has been selected as the Best Actress for the Tamil film Tiruchitraambalam and Manasi Parekh has been selected as the Best Actress for the Gujarati film Kutch Express. Apart from this, Sooraj Barjatya has received the Best Director award for the film Unchai. Neena Gupta has won the Best Supporting Actress award for the same film. Arijit Singh has won the award for Brahmastra in the playback singing category. Let us tell you that these awards have been given for those films which have been given censor certificate by the Film Censor Board between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022. The award ceremony is to be held in October 2024.

Let us tell you that Hombale Films has won four awards in the 70th National Film Awards. Kantara, made under the banner of this production, has won two awards and KGF 2 has won two awards. Kantara has won the Best Actor, Best Film and KGF 2 has won the Best Kannada Film, Best Action Director award.

The National Award winner is given a medal, Silver Lotus or Golden Lotus. Along with this, a cash prize is also given. However, in some categories only Golden Lotus or Silver Lotus is given.

Best Feature Film- Golden Lotus and prize money of Rs 2.5 lakh is given.
Indira Gandhi Award- Golden Lotus and prize money of Rs 1.25 lakh is given.
Nargis Dutt Award- Silver Lotus and prize money of Rs 1.5 lakh is given.
Best Film on Social Issues- Silver Lotus and prize money of Rs. 1.5 Lakh.
Best Children Film- Golden Lotus and prize money of Rs. 1.5 Lakhs.
Best Film- Silver Lotus and prize money of Rs. 1 Lakh.
Best Actor- Silver Lotus and prize money of Rs. 50 thousand.
When did the National Award start?
National Film Award is the most prestigious film award in the country. It was started in 1954. The first National Award in the Best Film category was given to the Marathi film ‘Shyamchi Aai’.
