What are those crops which India exports to Pakistan?


The quantity and price of crops exported from India to Pakistan keep fluctuating.  The Indian government had closed any kind of trade routes with Pakistan, later the transaction of essential goods started. Apart from crops and vegetables, transactions of essential goods are still going on between India and Pakistan. More than 25 crore population of Pakistan is still dependent on India for some things. Despite very poor bilateral relations, trade of essential crops is taking place between India and Pakistan. This trade route could be opened after the meeting held in Amritsar on 26 September 2023 under the leadership of Home Minister Amit Shah. > Pakistan, which is in need of food grains, still takes crops like cotton, tomato, onion and oilseeds from India. Along with this, Pakistan is also taking raw sugar from India. Apart from these, tea leaves, coffee and spices are also sent from India to Pakistan. According to reports, Pakistan buys fresh fruits like mango, banana, guava, orange, grapes, apple, pear etc. from India. Export of these crops can be promoted to improve trade relations between India and Pakistan. This will benefit the farmers and traders of both the countries.

How much trade has happened

Let us tell you that after the removal of Article 370, there has been a lot of trade between India and Pakistan. The business was closed which later started again. Between April 2022 and December 2022, there was trade worth about $1.35 billion between India and Pakistan. Everyone knows that the demand for opening trade routes with India is gaining momentum in Pakistan. Due to natural and political circumstances, there has been a sharp rise in the prices of vegetables and fruits and crops in thousands of acres across the country have been destroyed.
