Hazaribagh: Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital of Hazaribagh, Jharkhand has reached a state of disrepair. Where earlier there were reports like shortage of doctors, long queues, lack of medicines, poor treatment, now a surprising incident has also come to light. Here recently a patient died due to lack of oxygen, even though an oxygen plant was also installed in the hospital. But, two oxygen plants have been closed for 11 months.
Actually, Kalicharan Gop, a resident of Gwalatoli Chowk, Hazaribagh, was injured in a road accident, after which he was hurriedly brought to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital. Here he died due to lack of oxygen. Umesh Gop, brother of deceased Kalicharan Gop, has also filed an application in Sadar police station regarding this matter. This matter is also serious because a major negligence of the hospital administration was seen here.
3 cylinders installed, all three empty
In this regard, Umesh Gop, brother of the deceased Kalicharan Gop, said that his brother was seriously injured after being hit by an uncontrolled pickup van on Hurhuru Road in Hazaribagh on 26 September. He was immediately taken to Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital. The brother had suffered serious injuries. He was having trouble breathing. After informing the doctors, an oxygen cylinder was installed. It is alleged that the oxygen cylinder was empty. Similarly, three cylinders were installed, all of them turned out to be empty. Ultimately his brother died due to lack of oxygen.
‘Giving false solace to patients’
In this regard, Devendra Singh Dev, resident of Indrapuri, Hazaribagh, says that many such cases keep coming to light in Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital. This hospital is suffering from poor condition. The staff does not even know which oxygen cylinder is empty and which is full. Who knows how many patients they must be comforting every day by providing empty cylinders.

Meanwhile, Dr. Anusan Purti, Superintendent of Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College Hospital, says that the matter has come to his notice. Investigation is being done on this. How the empty cylinder was fitted to the patient. Action will be taken after investigation. Also instructed that whenever any cylinder is empty, it should be filled as soon as possible.
