When the public health officer of the area came to know about this incident, he informed the Kundrathur police. The police started investigating this matter and interrogated Manohar. During this, information about the WhatsApp group came to light, which decided the direction of this entire incident.

Sukanya and Manohar already have two daughters, whose age is eight and four years. When Sukanya became pregnant for the third time, she stopped going to the hospital and getting any kind of medical checkup done. On November 17, Sukanya started having labor pains, and decided to deliver at home as per the instructions in the WhatsApp group.
