What Is Home Signal Indicator Know How Does The Train Driver Know Which Is The Right Way

Indian Railways: While traveling by train, looking at the railway track, a question may also come in your mind that how does the driver of the train know which route is the right one. How does he know at a station which of the different tracks going on the same line to take the train? Let us know that when there are many tracks at a station, how does the loco pilot know which way he has to take the train. Railway itself has given information about this.

How to know the right track

When there is more than one track somewhere, the loco pilot gets information about which track to go on through the Home Signal. The Ministry of Railways itself has given information about this in a tweet that the signal itself tells the loco pilot on which track he has to take the train.

What is Home Signal?

At the place where a track is dividing into more than one garden, then the home signal is installed 300 meters before it. A route signal (white light) is also attached to it, which along with telling the correct track to the loco pilot, also signals him to take the train to a safe station.

If the loco pilot falls asleep…

There are 2 drivers in every train, one of them is a loco pilot and the other is an assistant loco pilot. In such a situation, if one starts feeling sleepy, then the other loco pilot handles the train. In case of emergency, he wakes up the sleeping pilot. If by chance both of them fall asleep, then for such a situation, the Railways has made such an arrangement, due to which the train will stop automatically and the control room will get information about it.
