What is Mission Raftaar?
Under Mission Raftaar, the aim is to increase the speed of trains operating in India. Under this mission, the speed of express and superfast trains will be increased by Indian Railways. So at the same time the speed of goods trains will also be increased. Under Mission Raftaar, the average speed of all these trains will be further increased.
To increase the speed of trains, a complete process has to be followed. In which tracks, signal system, overhead equipment, train coaches and engines have to be upgraded. So under this, construction of bypass footover bridge. Under this mission, all the diesel engines of the Railways will be converted into MEMU i.e. Main Line Electric Multiple Units.
Objective to cover long distance in short time
Under Mission Raftaar of Indian Railways, the objective has been set to cover long distances in short time. For long route trains, a plan is being made to increase the speed of trains to at least 160 kilometers per hour under Mission Raftaar. Under this, changes are being made in the trains. Necessary changes are also being made in the entire infrastructure of the Railways. This also includes planning to reduce whatever obstacles arise in the train’s journey.
